Veterans Moving Forward (VMF)

Headquartered in Dulles, Virginia — provides service dogs and canine therapy services to veterans with physical and/or mental health challenges at no cost. Available to any veteran of any era who served honorably and has physical or mental health challenges from military service, accident, or disease during or after service. Service task training includes retrieval, light switch operation, door opening, shopping assistance, and PTSD interruption. Each dog earns Canine Good Citizen and Urban CGC certification. Also provides facility dogs and emotional support dogs. Serves veterans across the continental United States, Hawaii, and Alaska — headquartered in NoVA but national reach. Meaningfully different from K9s For Warriors (primarily PTSD, Southeast-based) and America's VetDogs (mobility-focused): VMF serves all challenges, all eras, nationwide.
