National nonprofit founded in 2009 by Massachusetts General Hospital and the Boston Red Sox, dedicated to healing the invisible wounds of war for veterans of all eras, service members, military families, and families of the fallen. Care is delivered at no cost regardless of era of service, discharge status, or geographic location. Operates the first and largest private-sector clinic in the nation focused on invisible wounds — post-traumatic stress, traumatic brain injury, anxiety, depression, co-occurring substance use disorder, and military sexual trauma — from its National Center of Excellence in the historic Charlestown Navy Yard, with regional locations in Florida, Arizona, and Texas. Has served more than 30,000 veterans and family members and trained over 85,000 clinicians nationally. In 2019 established the country's first private-sector special operations clinic for physical and traumatic brain injuries. Part of the Warrior Care Network; partners include Fisher House, TAPS, Navy SEAL Foundation, Wounded Warrior Project, and the VA Boston Healthcare System. Principal fundraiser is the annual Run to Home Base at Fenway Park.
