Origin & mission
Michael Abrams founded FourBlock while earning his MBA at NYU after meeting Allen Strifler, an Iwo Jima survivor, and realizing that the civilian-military divide was costing veterans their careers and sometimes their lives. Starting with 16 veterans in a single NYC classroom in 2010, he built a semester-long career readiness program developed with Columbia University that has grown into a nationwide movement. FourBlock has created over $500 million in economic value for the military-connected community.
