Final Salute Inc.

Founded in 2010 by Army veteran and cancer survivor Jas Boothe after Hurricane Katrina — the only national nonprofit solely dedicated to providing homeless women veterans and their children with safe and suitable housing. An estimated 55,000 homeless women veterans in the U.S. on any given day; women veterans are more than twice as likely to become homeless as civilian women. H.O.M.E. program: transitional housing, on-site case management, food, clothing, transportation, child care assistance, and employment support — with a strict policy that mothers and children stay together. S.A.F.E.: Savings Assessment and Financial Education preventing homelessness through budgeting, saving, and emergency financial assistance. Next Uniform: professional clothing and career preparation. The program has served thousands of women veterans and children since 2011.
