Brides Across America

Founded in 2008 by Heidi Janson after reading about soldiers feeling forgotten overseas — Brides Across America has gifted over 28,000 free wedding dresses to military and first responder brides. Operation Wedding Gown events are held nationwide twice a year — around July 4th and Veterans Day — at partner bridal salons across the country, where qualifying brides are assisted by stylists and leave with a dress the same day. A BAA Outlet store in Andover, MA stocks 1,000+ gowns in sizes 00-24 starting at $99. Eligibility: the bride or fiance must be active duty or a veteran within the past 5 years, or a first responder. Valid military ID or documentation required. Registration opens on the BAA website before each event cycle.
